Alangkah Lucunya Negri Ini is a movie which is directed by Deddy Mizwar and starring as many familiar actors. It takes place at Jakarta and talk about social reality in this country. Starting from unemployment problem to arbitrary actions of police. This movie is really arousing our spirit because it remains us about education, friendship, hard work, and how to fight for life.
The story started when a man, Muluk, has not got any job after 2 years graduated from his college. Nevertheless, he do not give up and keep trying to look for the other job. There is a contradiction between two old friends, Mr. Makbul, muluk’s father, and Mr.Sarbini, his friend’s father, about the importance of education. His father beliefs that education is quite important for anybody and will be so useful for life, but Mr.Sarbini does not belief that because Muluk has not got job after his graduation. He feels worry about his daughter’s future because he plans to marry her daughter to Muluk.
Then, Muluk met a little boy which name is Komet. This is the beginning of his carrier. Komet took him to his quarters and Muluk is very shocked when he knows that they are a group of theft. Then he introduces Muluk to his boss, Mr.Jarot. Firstly, he is so mad of his arrival, but when Muluk offers a good corporation among them, he kindly aware and deal with him. Muluk asks the children to save 10% of their income for the corporation and he manages that money for their need. First, the children do not like him and think that he just make a game with them, but Muluk keep trying to convince them, and he success. They make a good corporation till someday Muluk plans to give them education and want to change their profession become a better person. He asks 2 his friend to help him. They help the children by teaching them about religion, education, and many things.
After they have got education, they try to be a good person and leave the world of theft, but some of them do not change their mind and keep being a theft. Seeing this improvement, Muluk feels happy and ask them to be hawkers. One day His father and his friends come to their quarters and see what the real Muluk’s job. They are so disappointed because all these time, they accept stolen money. Muluk and his friends think about this and finally they leave the children and try to look for the better job. He learn to drive car. When is in the street, he meet Komet and his friends. But unfortunately, they are chased by police because they sell in the middle of the street. Muluk frustrates police to chase the children, and he success. But finally, police catch and take him away.
Opinion about the movie
Education This is an inspiring movie because it tells us about hard work and struggle for life. There are many people who do not get any education and live in poverty and so close to criminal. Here, we are taught how spirited they are in learning and try to change their life become a better person.
Moral This movie shows many kind of the moral, from the worst till a better ones. There are so many things that we can learn from this movie. Bad moral here can make us aware that it is not good and should be avoided. The movie actually a bit teases the reality in our government. It is maybe meant to make the functionary aware and do not do as they want.
Friendship This movie inspire us about a life of thief. Although their job is quite wrong, but if see from the positive view, we can sum that they are so compact, they can cooperate each other, resist themselves from fighting, giving love and protection in poverty. Well those are jus examples, we shouldn’t be a thief to make a good friendship. If they could to be cooperative, of course we had to be more than them.
On the other hand, we also can see the friendship among Muluk, Pipit, and Samsul. They have not had a job and just spent along day with playing, joking, watching, and many more. But finally, they could teach the thief and make them became a better person and all of their fatigue could change their personality. The thief turn to the right way. That is a great result from the great friendship.
